Moldova’s energy-related problems discussed in Budapest

A delegation of the National Agency for Energy Regulations (ANRE) takes part, starting Monday, 15 May, at the Annual Meeting of Energy Regulations Regional Authorities (ERRA), held in the capital of Hungary, Budapest. According to ANRE press service, on Monday and Tuesday, the representatives of the Agency will participate at the V-th Conference on Regulations and Investments in Energy Sector, on Wednesday – at the works of ERRA Annual Meeting, and on Thursday and Friday – at the meetings of the License and Competition Committee and the one of Price and Tariffs. According to the agenda, the participants at this meeting will discuss numerous problems of common interest, highlighting the analysis of the current situation in the field of regulations in every member-state of ERRA and issues the regulation authorities of these countries deal with. At the annual meeting of the Association, Nicolae Triboi, ANRE director, will present a report on main activities of the regulation authorities of Moldova and evolutions on the markets of the sectors managed by it on May 2005 – May 2006, as well as about the priorities and projects of the Agency for this year. Before leaving for Budapest, Triboi expressed his confidence that participation of ANRE representatives at the forum in Hungary will facilitate the collecting and exchange of experience with other states, especially EU member states and those of the South-Eastern Europe Stability Pact. „The experience of regulatory authorities of these countries will serve as real support in adjustment process of national regulation acts to European standards, which ANRE is doing now”. ERRA was created by energy regulatory authorities from 15 states of Europe and Asia, including Moldova, in December 2000. ANRE also then became member with full rights of this regional association. ERRA main goal is to contribute to improving the regulation process of the energy field in member-states, development of certain stable and independent regulation authorities, improving cooperation relations between them. Now ERRA is composed of the regulation authorities of 20 countries of Central and Eastern Europe, and CIS.
