The consular section of Moldova’s Embassy in Tokyo and the Hague received the biometric data acquisition stations and will accept applications for passports of the citizen of the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports, quoting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.

The Moldovan citizens who settled in Japan and in countries of the Asia-Pacific Region are invited to make appointments through the email consulat.tokyo@mfa.gov.md or on the phone number +81 80 35225 1622. More information is available on the embassy’s website.

The Moldovans in the Netherlands will also be able soon to obtain passports at Moldova’s Embassy in The Hague. Additional informational can be found on the embassy’s website.

In 2020, the country’s diplomatic missions and consular offices provided 102,103 consular services. Most of the consular services were offered in Padova (18,221), Moscow (14,231), Milan (13,517), Rome (6,396), Paris (5,256), Frankfurt (4,703), Lisbon (3,908), Iasi (3,228), Istanbul (2,894) and Berlin (2,696).

“The provision of high-quality services to the diaspora is a constant preoccupation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration. In this connection, we remind that in a move to ensure the citizens’ access to alternative methods of paying for the provided consular services, the Ministry instructed the diplomatic missions and consular offices to collect payments for the consular services only through bank transfer or other cashless payment instruments and services. As an exception, the missions have the right to accept cash payments for the provided consular services only when the bank is closed,” the Ministry noted in a press release.
