Moldova’s efforts to advance in the process of joining the European Union, the security challenges in the region generated by Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and the cooperation plans for the next period were discussed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi with counterparts on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan, the Moldovan official discussed the intensification of the bilateral relations between Moldova and Turkey, with special emphasis on the commercial, economic and investment areas. “We also had an exchange of views on regional situation. We agreed to continue discussions at the Diplomatic Forum, which will take place in Antalya,” said Mihai Popșoi.

With the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia Bujar Osmani, Mihai Popșoi discussed the extension of the bilateral relations in the political, economic, social and cultural fields, as well as regional cooperation. “We talked about the progress made in the process of joining the EU and approved of the experience shared by the authorities in Skopje,” noted the Moldovan official stressed.
