The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration recommends the Moldovans to avoid travelling to Egypt, especially Sinai, in connection with the worsening security situation in this country and in the neighboring states, IPN reports.

If trips to holiday resorts were planned, the citizens are urged to obtain beforehand information about the possible risks from tour operators, authorized guides or the local tourism police.

According to the Egyptian authorities, owing to the unfavorable security situation and the permanent dangers of kidnapping and armed attacks, travelling to the north of the Sinai Peninsula and to the isolated areas at the border with Sudan, Libya and Israel was banned.

The authorities of Egypt recommend avoiding flying by Russian airliners going to regions controlled by terrorist groups and radical Islamic groups or through the given airspaces.

The Moldovan citizens who are in difficulty on the territory of Egypt are urged to contact the Embassy of Moldova in Ankara, Moldova’s Consulate in Istanbul or the Call Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova.
