Moldovan citizens in the Moscow area are encouraged by the Moldovan Embassy to seek assistance if needed, following Friday’s terrorist attack at a concert hall in Moscow’s Krasnogorsk suburb. They are also advised to exercise vigilance and follow the instructions of the local authorities to ensure their personal safety.

“The Embassy is deeply concerned about the safety of Moldovan citizens in the Russian Federation as a result of the armed attack in the Crocus City Hall concert hall. If you are in Moscow and need assistance or additional information, please contact the diplomatic mission by calling +7 (929) 964-90-79; +7 (925) 036-41-75; +7 (926) 838-41-47 or writing us a message at moscova@mfa.gov.md”, says a press release from the Embassy.

The diplomatic mission added that it is in contact with the local authorities to determine whether there are any Moldovan citizens among the victims.

The Embassy also condemned the terrorist act and conveyed condolences to the families of those killed and injured.

According to witnesses, three to five people dressed in combat uniforms were involved in the attack at the Crocus City Mall. Footage from the scene showed assailants opening fire from rifles on civilians running in fear in all directions. The attackers also set the venue ablaze.

By Saturday morning, the death toll stood at 63 people, with more than 120 others injured.

The United States confirmed that ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack, as reported by The New York Times.
