Moldovan wrestlers Cristian Constantinov and Dumitru Ceacusta won new medals at the Mixed Martial Arts Championship that was held in Indonesia, IPN reports.
The Ministry of Education and Research said that the best result at the international competition was recorded by Cristian Constantinov, who won the gold medal in the Striking MMA event. In the final of the +120 kg weight class, the Moldovan athlete beat Adthhapong Saengtep of Thailand.
Dumitru Ceacusta won a new MMA championship title. In the final of the up to 102 kg class, the Moldovan athlete defeated Colin Robinson of the U.S.
The Mixed Martial Arts Championship (GAMMA) in Indonesia involved almost 600 athletes from over 50 countries.
This year, the athletes of the National Universal Wrestling Federation won over 60 medals at various wrestling events, including the European and World Championships.
