Moldovan wrestlers win goal and bronze at Budapest Ranking Series

Wrestlers from Moldova climbed on to the winner’s rostrum at the Budapest Ranking Series in Hungary. Irina Rângaci won a gold medal, while Victor Ciobanu won bronze, IPN reports.

Irina Rângaci scored three victories in the 65kg weight class, against Germany’s Anne Nuernberger, Russia’s Ekaterina Koshkina and Kadriye Aksoy of Turkey.

Victor Ciobanu started with a defeat against the future winner of the 63kg class, Azerbaijan’s Murad Mammadov, 2021 world vice champion. In the playoffs, the pupil of Mihai Cucul beat Xavier Johnson of the U.S., while in the match for the bronze medal he defeated Lithuania’s Justas Petravicius.

The Border Police expressed gratitude to their colleagues for the special results achieved in professional sports beyond the country’s borders.

Several days ago, Anastasia Nikita won a gold medal in the 57kg class after beating Germany’s Sandra Paruszewski, Russia’s Olga Khoroshavtseva, Hannah Taylor of Canada and Kexin Hong of China.
