Weightlifter Ghenadie Dudoglo had a poor performance at the World Championship held in Poland. He ranked last in the 62 kg class, IPN reports.

Dudoglo finished 17th after failing to lift weights in the two exercises. “He wanted to lift 122 kg in snatch and 146 kg in clean and jerk, but failed in his attempts,” secretary general of the Moldovan Weightlifting Federation Alexandru Groapa has told IPN.

20-year-old Chen Lijun from China won gold in the 62 kg class. In the competition in Poland, Moldova will be also represented by Andrei Captari, on October 24, and Alexandru Dudoglo, on October 25. The best Moldovan weightlifter Anatol Ciricu is not taking part in the championship owing to injury.

China heads the medal rankings with three golds and a silver. Azerbaijan ranks third with one silver, which was won by Moldovan athlete Cristina Iovu.
