Moldovan woman – bone of contention between Greek traffickers and French football coach

A network specialised in trafficking in women has been discovered in Athens. The investigation started with the story revealed by a man who fell in love with a young woman from Moldova, who was a victim of this network, Info-Prim Neo reports, citing the Greek newspaper “Kathimerini”. Police in Athens arrested two men for the attempt to sell a woman from Moldova. The arrest was due to a French football coach who came to Greece several weeks before that and who fell in love with a Moldovan woman. The men decided to invite his lady love to France, but the traffickers did not allow her to leave. The angry coach decided to appeal to the police. As consequence of a special operation, the members of the network have been arrested and the woman has been freed. Solicited by Info-Prim Neo, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ press centre, Ala Meleca, stated that neither Interpol nor Europol or SECI GUAM did inform the Ministry about the case.
