Nicolae Besedovschi, chairman of the Organization of Veterans of the War for the Independence and Integrity of the Republic of Moldova “Grieving Mother”, said he intends to mount protests in front of the European Parliament and to convey the message that with such mafiotic clans at the Supreme Court of Justice and the Customs Service of Moldova, the reforms expected by the citizens of this state are impossible. The man stated that his right to ownership has been violated for 12 years owing to corruption in the legal system and customs.

In a news conference at IPN, Nicolae Besedovschi said he will go to the European Parliament with Moldova’s flag as Supreme Court of Justice eliminated all the legal ways by which he could recover his property. “I wonder why such a wrongdoing against me is committed by the lords who consider that they are above the law,” said the veteran.

Nicolae Besedovschi related that in 2005, when he wanted to cross the border through the Cahul customs post, customs officers asked €1,800 bribe from him for being allowed to take a car into Moldova. The customs officers invoked that the vehicles older than ten years cannot be imported into Moldova. But the car he was bringing from the Netherlands was made in 1995 and this wasn’t yet ten when he wanted to bring it into the country. He refused to give bribe and was thus deprived of the car even if there was no reason for doing so.

The man went to court. The Appeals Court accepted the verbal declaration of the customs officers, who said that the car was made in 1994, ignoring the documents showing that this was produced in 1995. At the Supreme Court of Justice, the production year was declared 1994 by an irrevocable judgment.

Nicolae Besedovski went again to court and the Appeals Court in 2013 accepted the documents showing that the car was made in 1995. An irrevocable judgment by the Supreme Court of Justice confirmed this. Thus, there are two totally different irrevocable Supreme Court of Justice judgments on the same issue, but judges ignore these

Nicolae Besedovschi said that since 2013 he has protested for many times, requesting the state institutions in charge of human rights to become involved, but none of these responded. He wants the car to be returned to him even if it is in a bad state most probably, but for him it is important for justice to be made to him.
