Radu Albot was chosen the best Moldovan tennis player of 2015, which is the year when he entered the top 100 players of the world. He was absent from the Laureates Gala because he is now training in the U.S., IPN reports.
The trophy was given to his father Vladimir. This year Albot also achieved results in the doubles, where he ranked 85th at world level. “This year wasn’t as good for the Davis Cup team, but I hope that 2016 will be better. One of the objectives is for Radu Albot to qualify for the Rio Olympics,” president of the Moldovan Tennis Federation Marina Tauber said in the Gala.
