The Moldovan C2 crew of Daniela Cociu and Maria Olărașu became the runners-up of women’s 500m canoe sprint at the Eurpean Championships taking place in Račice (the Czech Republic).
Cociu and Olărașu were clocked at 2:07.270, under three seconds behind the gold medal winners Liudmyla Luzan and Anastasia Chetverikova of Ukraine (2:04.464). The podium was completed by Belarus’s Daryna Salanenka and Irina Vikhruk (2:08.617).
Daniela Cociu and Maria Olărașu also competed in the double 200 m sprint, where they finished fifth.
