Members of the Russian Communities Congress from Moldova disapprove of the initiative of congress chairman Valery Climenco to collect aid for the victims of the military conflict from South Ossetia. They have sent a letter to Info-Prim Neo News Agency reading that the members of the Russian communities specify that the collection of money belongs exclusively to to the social-political movement “Ravnopravie”, the president of which is Valery Climenco. The members of the congress dissociate from the position of Climenco and his supporters. The congress members also accuse Climenco of using the congress's name and bank account for mean purposes. Climenco is accused of embezzling the organization's funds. The signatories write they have repeatedly urged Climenco to separate the cultural activity of his political and economic activities, or to yield the position of chairman of the Russian Communities Congress to a person dealing with only cultural matters. “Worth of mention is that, in connection with his tyrannic manner of conducting, Climenco ignores our interests and counts on our science,” the letter reads. “Taking into account we don't know where the gathered money will go and how it will be used, we notify people not to fall in the trap of the robbing plans of the group led by Climenco. We consider it inhumane to contribute to enrich the members of this group on the account of the Ossetians' suffering.” Valery Climenco has told Info-Prim Neo he has no clue that some of the congress members would have doubts as to the fund-raising drive. According to Climenco, the action rolls out successfully, as there is enough money to buy 10 tonnes of flour and 10 tonnes of sugar, as were the organizers' plans. The money is to be transferred to the administration of South Ossetia. “I'm not so poor as to steal,” Climenco has commented the allegations of embezzling the congress's funds. Her has added he's got a successful business since 1989.
