The European Rugby Challenge Cup produced surprises. The debutant of the competition Krasny Yar beat the current holder of the trophy Stade Francais 34-29, IPN reports.

The lineup of Russia’s vice champion included Moldovan players Oleg Prepelita, Victor Arhip and Andrei Mahu, with the latter scoring a try. Instead, Russia’s champion Enisei-STM, with Maxim Gargalic in the team, lost to Bordeaux Begles, for which Vadim Cobilas played, by 17-57.

Dumitru Arhip is the only Moldovan who competes in the Champions Cup. His team Ospreys of Wales was yet defeated at home by France’s Clermont 21-26.
