"Foreign businesses could become interested in the accomplishments in ecological agriculture achieved by the Moldovan scientists, said the representative of SGS Group in Moldova Sergiu Croitoru after a joint working meeting of scientists of the Academy of Sciences and members of Trade Club Moldova. The meeting was held at the Library of the Academy of Sciences, Info-Prim Neo reports. "You have ecological methods for destroying pests, biodiesel, natural methods for preventing and treating soil diseases and agricultural machinery. This means that you can very well tackle all the problems in the area,” Croitoru said. At the meeting, the Academy’s members presented the latest researches in high-value agriculture to the consuls and economic and commercial attaches of the embassies working in Chisinau, who are members of Trade Club Moldova. “I’m glad that the researches in Moldova’s agriculture produce significant results. Many researches carried out by members of the Academy of Sciences have a special commercial potential,” said Igor Bugai, the executive secretary of Trade Club. According to Igor Bugai, the members of the club are to spread the information among businessmen in their countries. Afterward, the interested entrepreneurs will establish business and cooperation relations with Moldovan agricultural institutions because many of the presented researches offer real advantages. Academician Boris Gaina, who chaired the meeting, expressed his confidence that the meeting turned out to be useful. “These are ordinary meetings between scientists and entrepreneurs. After the researches leave the laboratory, the technology should be transferred not only to national scientific institutions, but also to institutions from abroad, where the potential is huge. Trade Club Moldova is one of the bridges that facilitate technology transfer. As a result of the contacts established at the first working meeting, Poland and the Czech Republic were provided with sorts of grapes resistant to cold, while China with vine adapted to warm and very wet climates. The presented researches covered such areas as mechanization, soil protection, animal breeding, protection of agricultural crops and winemaking and winegrowing technology.
