Moldovan prosecutors require Hill’s help in setting free a citizen arrested by secessionist authorities

General prosecution addressed to the head of OSCE Mission in Moldova, William Hill, with the request to contribute to setting free Vladimir Gorbov, who was arrested by security services of unrecognized Transnistrian republic under the charge of espionage in favor of authorities of Chisinau, according to PG report. Gorbov, aged 69, was arrested in the town Ismail, region Odessa of Ukraine, on 13 March 2006, by a group of unknown persons within „the ministry of security” of Transnistria, lead by Antiufeev (Sevtov). Gorbov was brought by force to Tiraspol. Now Gorbov is arrested illegally in preventive detention jail in Tiraspol, being charged of „espionage in favor of Moldova”. Taking into consideration the fact that Vladimir Gorbov is old aged and suffers from an oncology disease, which needs to be treated permanently in a specialized medical institution, General Prosecution decided to ask the support of William Hill in order to make efforts to set free Gorbov, according to PG report. General Prosecution started a case on 22 March 2006 regarding Vladimir Gorbov’s kidnapping, according to article 164 of the Penal Code. In case the persons guilty of this offence are found, they risk 7 to 15 years life imprisonment. In the same time, PG did not mention how constitutional authorities cum would execute a possible sentence, as they do not control. Eastern region.
