An international wine exhibition held in the People’s Republic of China offers Moldovan winemakers the possibility of communicating directly with Chinese wine buyers and of better understanding their preferences and the development trends of the consumer market in China, said the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Moldova-China Boris Foca. In a news conference hosted by IPN, he called on the Moldovan producers to take part in an economic mission to the exhibition in China’s Ningxia, which is staged by the Commerce and Industry Moldova-China.

“We need to increase exports and do it not only with regard to the People’s Republic of China, but also with regard to all the countries as, when we export, the value added of our products is much higher. Therefore, we call on the producers to be courageous and come alongside us on an economic mission, to take part in the exhibition as only this way you can make yourself know and can meet a potential development partner. Moreover, the organizers assured us that that they will stage business-to-business meetings for us so that we can establish long-lasting partnerships,” stated Boris Foca.

He noted that winemakers and winegrowers and also grape juice producers can take part in this exhibition. The expo is also open to producers of equipment for wineries and companies that make glasses or serving equipment. The participants can exhibit sets of auxiliary material, such as oak tree barrels and packaging, derivative products, like skin produces, seed extracts and medical goods.

Boris Foca urged the producers to register to take part in the exhibition during the next few days. For further details, one can contact the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Moldova-China. “As not much time is left, we need to hasten the processes slightly. We need to send samples to China and to get visas. We must agree with the whole logistics chain and I therefore urge you to hurry up,” he said. He explained that Moldova will have free stands that are 3x3 square meters in area at the exhibition. There are now ten stands, but the number can be raised, depending on the extent to which other states become involved.

“We also received requests from Romanian counterparts who want to take part in this event. We will see if there are possibilities and openness to companies from Romania. I’m already firmly convinced that our companies will be very interested,” noted Boris Foca.

The international wine culture and tourism expo will take place in Ningxia region of the People’s Republic of China during June 8-12. There will be staged a series of extra activities, such as an industrial forum, alcohol tasting events and research travel in which the exhibitors can take part.
