Moldova and Lithuania will intensify the relations of cooperation in the justice sector. The administration of the Ministry of Justice had a meeting with the new Ambassador of Lithuania to Moldova Rimantas Latakas. Minister Oleg Efrim approved of the cooperation between the Ministry of Justices of Moldova and the competent institutions of Lithuania in implementing the justice sector reform strategy, IPN reports.
The officials discussed the necessity of promoting the Lithuanian practices in e-Governance and e-Justice, especially the project to create an online database concerning the process of adopting normative documents, from the drafting to the publication in the Official Gazette (e-Legislation).
Ambassador Rimantas Latakas said that Lithuania will continue to support the reforms in the justice sector and will provide the necessary assistance. “The positive changes in the legal system are visible. That’s why Lithuania will intensify the cooperation between the law enforcement institutions of Moldova and Lithuania. We will continue to back the reforms initiated in this field and Moldova’s European course,” stated the diplomat.
Rimantas Latakas was appointed as Lithuania’s Ambassador in Chisinau on August 20.
