Moldovan judokas give modest performance at European Championship

The three Moldovan athletes ended their participation in the European Judo Championship. Only Valeriu Duminica managed to win a victory, IPN reports.

Valeriu Duminica put on a good show in the first battle against Armenia’s Andranik Chaparyan, in the 81 kg class, but was eliminated in the second round by Roman Moustopoulos of Greece.

Igor Soroca (73 kg) and Tatiana Osoianu (48 kg) left the competition after the first battle. Igor Soroca was eliminated by Rustam Orujev of Azerbaijan, while Tatiana Osoianu lost to the representative of Spain Julia Figueroa Pena.

The European Judo Championship is held in the French city of Montpellier on April 24-27.
