Moldovan Government has committed itself in Brussels to fully implementing the existent legislation and ongoing reforms, reconfirming its political engagement to carry out a wide range of ambitious political reforms and to consolidate the rule of law in Moldova.
According to a press release of the International Monetary Fund Office in Moldova, international partners of Moldova stressed upon the necessity to further consolidate the independence of legal bodies and recognized the importance of fully implementing the last laws regarding the legal system, Supreme Council of Magistrate and Bar Association. At the same time, they outlined the necessity to fully implement the Action Plan and Anticorruption Strategy in Moldova and asked Chisinau to make Anticorruption Centre act in compliance with its missions, noting the necessity to stop abuses on the part of the law enforcement bodies.
It was also mentioned the necessity of reforms in reducing administrative and regulatory barriers in front of the private sector, paying proper regard to business environment, encouraging businessmen and foreign investments to improve competitiveness.
Partners and Government have agreed that in the future the economic and social development in Moldova, as well as the close relations with international community depend on Chisinau’s great perseverance in implementing political, social and economic policies.
The meeting of the Consultative Group that was held in Brussels, Belgium, on December 12, has offered Moldovan authorities the opportunity to show to international community the progress made in carrying out economic and social reforms, impact of foreign shocks that Moldova confront with at present and prospects on development. The discussions have been focused on three main fields: political reform and the rule of law, structural and social-economic reforms, and macroeconomic policies and funding necessities.
