A Moldovan-Estonian Business Forum will take place in Tallinn, Estonia, on May 20 this year. President Nicolae Timofti welcomed the holding of this event in a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia Keit Pentus-Rosimannus, who was in Chisinau on a visit, IPN reports.

The head of state appreciated the quality of the relations between Moldova and Estonia, determined by the Estonian authorities’ support for Moldova’s European integration efforts. Nicolae Timofti said Estonia’s success after joining the EU in 2004 proves that the integration into the EU brings advantages and represents an example that can be followed by the Moldovans.

Minister Keit Pentus-Rosimannus reiterated Estonia’s commitment to provide assistance to the Moldovan authorities in modernizing the country. The Government of Estonia in 2015 allocated €950,000 for financing projects in Moldova, in such areas as e-government, healthcare and rural development.

The Estonian official also met with Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici. The interlocutors discussed the latest developments in the Moldovan-Estonian relations, Moldova’s European agenda and the preparations for the Riga EaP Summit of May 21-22, 2015.

Chiril Gaburici referred also to the consultancy services provided by Estonian experts in healthcare, education, social protection, human rights and e-governance, saying these are very important in the process of meeting the European standards. He said the Government is ready to continue the reforms in justice and the financial-banking sector. In the end, the officials agreed to maintain a continuous dialogue with a view to developing the bilateral relations in all the areas of cooperation.
