A group of doctors at the Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Health have obtained a patent for a new method to treat moderate Covid cases, based on ozone therapy, where the pacient’s blood is enriched with oxygen, RFE/RL Moldovan Service reported.

Dr. Nicolae Bodrug, a member of the team, claimed “thousands of patients” that underwent ozone therapy during the pandemic were able to avoid more severe forms of the disease.

According to Dr. Ecaterina Luca, the method involves taking 150-200 ml of blood from the patient and ozonize it, before reinjecting it to the patient. She claims the method can be used to treat a wide range of illnesses, running the gamut from herpes, to different types of hepatitis, to headaches.

“Blood vessels are left much cleaner. The patient feels much better, is more active, and has better sleep. If a patient suffers from pneumonia, he can breathe much better from the very first session. He can feel the air as if penetrating deeper into the lungs and is amazed by how the chest feels fuller with air”, Dr. Luca said.

The invention has received awards in Romania and Moldova.
