The performing of remunerated activities by the family members of diplomats from Moldova and Belgium will be facilitated. An agreement to this effect was signed by Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, and Hadja Lahbib, Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Foreign Trade of Belgium. The two officials met on the sidelines of the informal meeting of the EU foreign affairs ministers that was held in Prague, IPN reports.
Nicu Popescu spoke about the possibility of extending Belgian investments in Moldova. “We consider we have good growth potential in this regard with the over 150 companies with Belgian capital that already operate in our country,” stated the official.
The discussions also centered on Moldova’s European course in a number of areas, such as the justice sector reform and the fight against corruption, functioning of laws, improvement of the electoral legislation, the public administration reform.
In March, the Republic of Moldova and the Kingdom of Belgium celebrated the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
