The Moldovan authorities offered their condolences after Friday’s terrorist attack in the Moscow area.

“Condolences to all the families of those who died in the terrorist attack in Moscow. Moldova condemns terrorism and any act of violence against civilians and innocent people. According to data collected overnight by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there are no Moldovan citizens among the victims. Our hearts are with the injured and all those who lost their dear ones in the attack”, declared President Maia Sandu.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mihai Popșoi, also condemned the terrorist attack “that took many innocent lives”. “Terrorism cannot be justified. Our hearts are with the victims and their families”, the official said.


The Chisinau administration, too, condemned “the actions and attacks as a result of which people suffer”. “People want to live in peace. We are living in a tense period and every action and statement from everyone counts”, said Mayor Ion Ceban.

According to updated information, at least 93 people died in the armed attack, including three children.
