President Maia Sandu said that Russia’s war on Ukraine has no bounds. “Ukraine needs urgent help to defend itself and to defend peace in Europe”. The statement comes in the wake of a Russian missile attack on Odesa, which left at least 16 dead and more than 70 wounded, IPN reports.
“First a Russian missile shatters homes. Then, as emergency crews rush in, a second missile hits. Russia’s war on Ukraine knows no bounds. Ukraine needs urgent help to defend itself and to defend peace in Europe,” said the head of state.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean described as devastating the scenes in Odessa, where Russian missiles strike twice in a day, claiming again innocent lives. “Ukraine urgently needs internal support to defend itself and keep peace in Europe. Moldova stands by the people of Ukraine as they resist Russia’s barbaric aggression,” noted the official.
International media reported that at least 16 people were killed and more than 70 wounded in a double tap Russian strike on Odessa on Friday. After the launch of the first missile, emergency crews rushed to the scene and were hit by a second missile. A paramedic and a worker are among the dead. This military tactic, termed a “double tap”, involves firing a second missile at the same location, often targeting rescuers.
