Moldovagaz has to make purchases for the winter, from January to April, but the process is blocked because there is no one to make decisions, said Seregiu Tofilat, a member of the company’s Supervisory Board. Tofilat proposes instituting external management at Moldovagaz, so that the country does not run out of gas. A draft law in this regard was submitted to Parliament and is to be included in the agenda of the next sitting, IPN reports.

In posts on social media, the expert said he believes that the Russian side is the one that blocks the appointment of managers at Moldovagaz. According to Tofilat, although the ballots for the election of the new composition were sent to Gazprom, the Russian giant has not responded so far. “For three weeks, Moldovagaz has not had managers  and out of the nine members of the Administration Board, only an interim manager remained, but this does not have the right to put his signature in the public registers, although, according to the statute, the decisions are approved with a majority of seven members,” said Sergiu Tofilat.

The expert noted that in a meeting on September 25, the Supervisory Board was to elect the new administration, including the president, but they could not as they did not know how the Russian side voted. Tofilat accuses Gazprom representatives of violating the regulations of the Supervisory Board.

However, working meetings are being held at Moldovagaz to identify solutions to provide the country with gas, Vadim Ceban, who holds the post of Moldovagaz CEO on an interim basis, said in a post published on social media on Thursday. “Work in progress! The “nominal” administration of Moldovagaz SA is working to identify strategies and tactics for purchasing natural gas,” wrote Vadim Ceban.

IPN reminds that in September, the Ministry of Energy proposed candidates for member of the Administration Board of Moldovagaz. The candidates are: Dorin Junghietu, proposed for the position of chairman of the Board; Vadim Ceban - for the post of vice-president, and Eduard Calancea and Radu Mandraburca - for the positions of members of the Administration Board. The new members will serve a three-year term after they are accepted by the Supervisory Board of JSC Moldovagaz. The company’s Administration Board is the collegial executive body that consists of nine members appointed at the proposal of the main shareholders.
