The Communist Party (PCRM) issued a statement, congratulating the people on the 20th anniversary of the proclamation of Moldova’s independence. It says that the ideals of the good, equity and peace will triumph again on the ancestors’ land, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Given that the present administration is actively preparing to pompously celebrate this jubilee, we should admit a rather sad fact – this period of 20 years of development as a state was a period of harsh polemics between the supporters of Moldova’s independence and those who saw and continue to see Moldova as a component part of another state. Regretfully, these polemics remain a priority in our development,” says the statement. The party stressed that the pension in Moldova is only US$7, the salaries – US$15 and the country’s foreign debt is enormous, while corruption and criminality are flourishing. According to the statement, Moldova would have disappeared from Europe’s historical map without the eight-year Communist government. In that period, the state budget rose five times, the foreign investments – six times, the National Bank’s reserves – seven times, the pension – seven times, while the average salary in economy – eight times. The organized crime was liquidated and Moldova got rod of international isolation after signing the Basic Treaty on the Strategic Partnership with Russia and, for the first time, set the course for European integration and modernization. The Communist Party is convinced that the population needs namely such a Moldova and they will have it in the nearest future
