Moldova’s national team won 11 medals at the World Beach Wrestling Championships, which took place during September 8-10 in the Romanian city of Constanța.
In the U20 division, four Moldovan wrestlers became world champions: Pavel Graur, 70 kg; Eugen Mihalcean, 90 kg; Nicolae Stratulat, +90 kg; and Luciana Beda, 70 kg.
In the same age category, two other representatives of Moldova took silver medals: Ion Marcu, 80 kg; and Ion Berghi, 70 kg.
Alexandru Borș, 90kg; and Ion Laurențiu Marcu, 80kg finished in third place.
Moldova topped the medal table in the U20 division. The participating wrestlers and their coaches secured spots at the traditional end-of-year National Sports Gala.
