Moldova wins two medals at European Throwing Cup

Andrian Mardare became European Under 23 champion in javelin throw in the Throwing Cup held in Las Palmas, Spain. The pupil of coach Valeriu Lungu also set a national record: 82.34 meters, IPN reports.

The previous record of 78.47 meters was set also by Andrian Mardare, in the championship of Romania last year.

Alexandra Emilianov, 17, won bronze in weight throw in the Under 23 class, with the result of 54.66 meters.

Sister and brother Zalina and Sergey Marghiev achieved good results in hammer throw. Zalina ranked fourth, while Sergey finished fifth.
