The Moldovan judokas won two medals at the Cadet European Judo Cup held in Cluj-Napoca. Victor Sterpu ranked second, while Petru Pelivan finished third, IPN reports.
Victor Sterpu competed in the 73 kg class and scored four victories. He was beaten only by Italy’s Leonardo Casaglia. For his part, Petru Pelivan won five victories, being defeated only by Roy Schipper of the Netherlands. In the match for the bronze medal, he won against another Dutch athlete Sam Westende.
The competition in Cluj-Napoca also involved Cornel Andrieș, Ion Nacu, Adil Osmanov, Vadim Tcaci, Vadim Zaharia and Cristina Blanaru.
