Moldova’s squad obtained five gold medals and two silvers at the Europeans Youth Olympic Festival that was held in Tbilisi between July 26 and August 2, IPN reports.
Swimmer Alexei Sancov brought three golds and one silver to Moldova. Athlete Alexandra Emilianov and judo player Ion Mihailov won by one gold medal, while swimmer Tatiana Salcutan won silver.
At the Olympic Festival, Moldova was represented by 19 sportspersons who competed in swimming, judo, athletics and tennis. In the rankings by medals, Moldova took the sixth position. The competition involved 3,800 athletes from 50 countries.
