Freestyle wrestler Piotr Caraseni has won a bronze medal at the Cadet World Championship that took place in Athens. He reached the semifinals of the 76 kg weight class after he beat Bulgaria’s Bobi Nikov and Islam Aliev of Azerbaijan, IPN reports.
In the semifinals, Caraseni lost to Russia’s Arsamag Khostikoev, but in the match for the bronze medal didn’t experience serious problems with Erlan Bektenaliev of Kyrgyzstan, deafening him 11-0. Piotr Caraseni trains in Comrat under the guidance of Ilia Esir.
In the 100 kg class, Radu Lefter ranked fifth after he won against Zyyamuhammet Sarapov of Turkmenistan. In the 1/8 finals, he was beaten by the future world champion Daniel Gregory Clifton of the U.S.
