Moldova wins 11 medals at European Shotokan Karate Championships

The Moldovan athletes won 11 medals at the European Seniors Shotokan Karate Championships held in Italy. Vitalie Spînu won two golds, in kumite individual Open and in kumite sanbon shobu +80 kg, IPN reports.

The athlete from Balti also won two a silver in ippon shobu and a bronze in mixed team kumite.

Anastasia Spînu won three silvers and a bronze, Vasilii Dovzii – three bronzes, Daniel Mutelica – two bronzes, Sandu Gazea – a bronze.

In the team rankings, the Republic Moldova took the fourth spot, after Romania, Bulgaria, and Hungary.
