The Republic of Moldova will not abandon the Transnistrian region while following the path to European integration, said President Maia Sandu. According to her, the authorities work to fulfill the conditions put forward by the European Commission and to resolve the Transnistrian conflict, IPN reports.
“We work on both dimensions: to meet the expectations, the conditions formulated by the European Commission, to implement the reform programs and, also to settle the Transnistrian conflict,” Maia Sandu stated in a news conference after the EPC Summit.
“The more we advance on the path of European integration, the more we will raise the living standards of the citizens and the better we ensure safety on the right side of the Nistru, the larger the support of the citizens from the left side of the Nistru for the country’s reintegration will be,” noted the official.
