Moldova’s U19s ended their qualification campaign for the 2013 European Championship with a humiliating defeat. The Tricolors suffered a 1-8 thrashing at the hands of the Northern Ireland in Group 5, Info-Prim Neo reports. The hosts of the preliminary tournament taught the Moldovans a lesson in football. Dominic Ball shined with four goals to his name. Moldova’s only goal was scored by defender Victor Mudrac, who converted a penalty in the dying moments of the game. After the defeat against Ireland, the boys coached by Danut Oprea finished bottom of the group with only one point. In the other game of the group, the Czech Republic bested Greece 2-1. Despite the result, both teams qualified to the next stage of the competition. Moldova’s U19 women’s team will play in the European Championship qualifiers between October 20 and 25.
