Moldova U-21 football team beaten by Belgium

The national Under 21 football team of Moldova was defeated by the similar team of Belgium 0-2 in a match of the 2017 UEFA European Under 21 Championship qualifying competition. The first goal was scored by Belgium’s Michael Heylen in the 72nd minute, while the second by Joris Kayembe in overtime, IPN reports.

The team managed by Danut Oprea got three yellow cards, while Sergei Svinarenco was eliminated in the 80th minute. The Belgian team was shown two yellow cards.

Moldova remains last in the qualifying group with 4 points. Belgium climbed to the first place with 12 points, while the Czech Republic is to play a match against Latvia in two days. In case of victory, it can replace Belgium at the top.

Moldova has to play three more matches away. It meets Latvia on September 2, the Czech Republic – on October 7, and Malta on October 11.
