Moldova U-19 loses first friendly of 2021

The national Under-19 football team started the preparations for the qualifying competition that will take place in Moldova in March. The team trained by Yuri Chunchuk plays in a group with France, Greece and Azerbaijan, IPN reports.

Currently, the Moldovan team are training in Turkey, where two friendly matches were set to be played. In the first friendly against Bulgaria, Moldova was beaten 0-2. The goals were scored in the second half by Hristiyan Petrov and Ivan Tasev.

The encounter between Moldova and North Macedonian was scheduled for February 3.

The performance of the U-19 team was also followed by Moldova manager Engin Firat. During the next few days, the Coaches Committee will decide whether Engin Firat will remain to manage the national team also during the qualifying competition of the 2022 World Cup.
