Moldova signs International Convention on “Information Society Services”

Moldova has signed the Convention on Information and Legal Co-operation concerning "Information Society Services"
This Convention has been opened for signature in Moscow, on 4 October 2001.
The Convention will come into force after five signers will ratify it. Until present, this convention was signed by Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria and Norway. Bulgaria ratified the Convention on June 30, 2005.
“Information Society Services” cover a wide range of on-line activities amongst which : on-line information services (newspapers, magazines, libraries, electronic databases, research engines etc.); electronic commerce; on-line agencies (of advertising, marketing, tele-shopping, tourism, real estate, etc.); on-line validation services (certification of electronic signatures, authentication); on-line services to consumers (interactive teleshopping, information on products and assets); on-line tourist services (flight, train, hotel, car, virtual visits to museums); on-line entertainment services; new telecommunications services on demand (videoconference, Internet access, electronic mail, discussion forums), etc.
