The Republic of Moldova received a clear message of support for the efforts made in the implementation of the reform agenda, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said in a press briefing on December 14, upon his return from Brussels. According to the Premier, this message of support was sent in the meetings with representatives of European institutions and with EU heads of state and government, Info-Prim Neo reports. ”What is important is that the state administration should realize this thing and the energy should be directed exactly towards the implementation of what’s necessary. This means fewer statements and more deeds,” said the Premier. As regards the liberalization of the visa regime with the EU, Vlad Filat said this will definitely happen not long before the Eastern Partnership Summit of next November. “This summit for Moldova means the signing of the Association Agreement, implicitly of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area, and also the ascertaining that the Republic of Moldova fulfilled all the conditions required to benefit from a visa-free regime. Afterward, there will be performed the internal procedure in the EU”, stated the Premier. According to Vlad Filat, besides a liberalized visa regime Moldova will also obtain the functionality of the institutions and systems within which these institutions works. The task of Moldova, the country’s institutions and the managers of these institutions is to fulfill the set criteria as soon as possible. Vlad Filat was in Brussels on a visit on December 13. He took part on the Summit of the European People’s Party and presented the first report on the implementation of the second phase of the Moldova – EU Visa Liberalization Action Plan.
