As many as 160,000 flu shots for the categories facing an increased risk of infection were transmitted to the National Public Health Center. The vaccine was bought at the price of 63.47 lei per pre-filled syringe (0.5 ml) from France. The batch cost 10 million lei, IPN has learned from the National Health Insurance Company.
The shot has been homologated in Moldova. Its antigenic composition meets the one recommended by the World Health Organization for the 2013 – 2014 flu spread risk season in the northern hemisphere.
The medical staff, customs employees, children from boarding schools and persons from old people’s homes will be vaccinated according to the schedule set by the National Health Insurance Company.
