The national football team of Moldova plays the last exhibition match before the qualification competition of the 2018 World Cup this evening, June 3. The ‘tricolors’ meet the Swedish national team in Lugano, IPN reports.

Switzerland and Moldova so far met two times in the qualifying rounds of the 2010 World Cup. Both of the matches ended by 2-0 in favor of the Swedish team. This evening’s match takes place at the Cornaredo Stadium in Lugano, which has a seating capacity of 5,800. According to the organizers, all the tickets to the game were sold.

“In Switzerland, football advances. It will be a very hard match. If we struggle and concentrate our efforts, we can achieve a positive result,” said halfback Artur Ionita, who had played for five years for Aarau in the championship of Switzerland.

The fixture starts at 7pm, Moldova’s time. It will be controlled by a team of referees from Spain. Chief referee Alejandro Hernandez will be assisted by Pau Cebrian Devis and Miguel Martinez Munuera.
