Moldova loses first UEFA Futsal Euro 2022 qualifier

The national futsal team of Moldova was beaten by the similar team of Azerbaijan in the qualifying competition of the UEFA Futsal Euro 2022. Moldova suffered a 1-5 defeat in Baku, IPN reports.

The Azeri team, which included a number of naturalized Brazilians, was leading by 3-0 in the first half. Sergiu Tacot cut the difference in the 26th minute, but Bolinha scored twice, taking the score to 5-1.

In the other match, Slovakia demolished Greece 6-0. In the rankings, Azerbaijan is leading with nine points. Slovakia and Moldova have by four points, while Greece has zero points.

The final tournament will involve the eight group winners plus the best six second-ranked teams.

On March 9, the team trained by Vladimir Vusatyi meets Azerbaijan at the sports complex “Futsal Arena FMF” in Ciorescu. The match starts at 6:30pm.
