The national football team of Moldova was beaten 0-2 by the team of Greece in the third match of the UEFA Nations League. The goals were scored by Bakasetas (45-penalty) and Mandalos (50), IPN reports.
In the overtime of the first half, Posmac fouled Pavlidis and referee Dennis Higler eliminated the fullback of Sheriff and awarded a penalty that was transformed by Bakasetas.
In 5 minutes of the resumption of the game, Mandalos scored from inside the square, with goalkeeper Namashko failing to defend the goal.
In the 85th minute, Marandici, who just entered the field, suffered an injury and Moldova manager Engin Firat could no longer make changes.
“The team defended itself well until the sending-off. Later, that penalty thwarted all our plans. We will analyze the game so as to obtain a positive score with Slovenia,” said fullback Alexandru Epureanu.
On October 14, Moldova meets in Chisinau Slovenia, which defeated Kosovo 1-0. In the rankings, Greece and Slovenia have by 7 points, while Moldova and Kosovo by one point.
