The Government and people of Moldova sympathize with the Japanese people who has been put to a great trial by the recent devastating series of earthquakes, Info-Prim Neo reports. “It was with a deep feeling of sorrow and profound commiseration that we learned about the significant loss of human lives and extensive damages caused by the devastating earthquake that hit the northeast coast of Japan, causing a huge tsunami as well”, reads a sympathy message addressed by Moldovan Prime Minister Vlad Filat to his Japanese counterpart Naoto Kan. “In these moments of great distress we stand by the much-tried Japanese people and share your grief. Let me express my confidence that the efforts of solidarity of the international community will help you overcome this difficult period as soon as possible. Your Excellence, please accept my sincere sympathy and please extend our entire compassion to the bereaved families”, says the message, which was issued on Saturday, March 12. At the Government's meeting on the same day, Prime Minister Filat instructed relevant agencies to urgently identify possibilities of offering aid to the Japanese government and people. “It is high time to show solidarity. Japan has always been there for us”, said Filat.
