The national football team of Moldova didn’t manage to score a victory on the field of Liechtenstein and remained last in Group G of the qualifying rounds of the 2016 European Championship. The match ended in a 1-1 draw after the hosts led during 23 minutes, IPN reports.

Moldova replied to the superb goal scored by Sandro Wieser towards the end of the first half, through Gheorghe Boghiu. The ex-striker of FC Tiraspol scored the first goal for the national team after a good pass from Nicolae Milinceanu. The latter also managed to score, in the second half, but his goal was annulled by the Czech referees.

“I have never seen a team to have so much luck. In Chisinau we also dominated them clearly. Even if we didn’t win, I have confidence in my team,” Moldova manager Alexandru Curteian told a news conference.

On September 5, Moldova meets Austria in Vienna. Austria has practically qualified for EURO 2016 after defeating again Russia 1-0. Austria has 16 points, by 4 more than Sweden and by 8 more than Russia. Moldova comes last with one point.
