The national football team of Moldova was trounced by Italy’s team 0-6 in the friendly match played in Florence. This is for the second time that Moldova lost by such a categorical score. On June 6, 2001, Moldova was beaten by Sweden 0-6, IPN reports.

“In the second part of the first half, 4-5 players seemed to be absent from the field. I’m very disappointed. We must take revenge this Sunday, on Greece,” said Moldova manager Engin Firat.

“The first 15 minutes of the game were more difficult, but then we focused on the play,” said the manager of Italy Roberto Mancini.

Engin Firat used the following players: Koshelev (Namashko 46), Armaș, Posmac, Marandici (Reabciuk 46), Crăciun (Mudrac 46), Suvorov (Cociuc 46), Ioniță, Rață, Carp (Epureanu 29), Plătica, Nicolaescu (Milinceanu 79).

The friendly against Italy was a test before the matches against Greece and Slovenia of the UEFA Nations League. Moldova meets Greece in Athens on October 11 and Slovenia in Chisinau three days later.
