The Republic of Moldova can count on Romania’s constant support in improving the situation in the field of justice and achieving the goal of European integration. This was stated by Romania’s Minister of Justice Alina Gorghiu during a visit to Chisinau, were she met with her Moldovan counterpart Veronica Mihailov-Moraru.
“We definitively need to diversify forms of bilateral cooperation, including in drafting policy documents and normative acts, improving access to justice, making the judicial system more friendly, improving the quality of justice. I believe that cooperation in preventing and combating corruption, as well as in exchanging best practices on the activity of courts, will bring added value to the reform of our justice system”, declared Veronica Mihailov-Moraru in a joint press conference.
Romania will continue its sustained efforts in the relationship with European institutions and EU member states to support Moldova on all levels in its European integration journey, declared Alina Gorghiu. She added that Romania advocates the start of accession negotiations for Moldova by the end of his year. An important event in this respect will be the next edition of the Support Moldova Platform, of which Romania is a co-initiator alongside France and Germany, to be held in Chisinau on October 17 and 18.
The two ministers also agreed on holding the third edition of the Moldova-Romania Justice Forum, to take place in Chisinau early next year.
