Moldova and Bulgaria mark three decades of diplomatic relations. The Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration says this is a good opportunity to express its strong faith that the dialogue will continue in the future, including at the level of regional and international organizations, with Bulgaria being also an active supporter of Moldova’s integration into the European Union.
“Bulgaria was among the first nations to recognize the independence of the Republic of Moldova. Over the course of these three decades, the cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Bulgaria has been marked by a dynamic development based on mutual respect and interest”, the Ministry said in a press release.
“Moldovan-Bulgarian relations continue to expand in various areas. The centuries long presence of a Bulgarian community in Moldova’s territory has had a significant impact on spiritual and interpersonal development, contributing to the consolidation of the traditional friendship between both states and peoples. Both states remain fully committed to deepening diplomatic dialogue and developing mutually beneficial relations in various areas of common interest,” said the Ministry.
In celebration of the anniversary, the Embassy of Moldova in Bulgaria invites the public to visit a dedicated virtual photo exhibition. Other cultural events to promote the diplomatic anniversary will be organized during the year.
