A part of the Chisinau belt road and the Dubăsari-Chisinau-Leușeni road will be rehabilitated. The Cabinet approved the initiation of negotiations on the loan agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on the implementation of the Moldova Roads Rehabilitation V program, IPN reports.
The money will be used to repair the M2 road, the belt road of Chisinau, sector 2, by extending this to four lanes, with an estimated length of 7 km. There will also be rehabilitated 85 km of the M1 road, on the border with Romania-Leușeni-Chisinau-Dubăsari-border with Ukraine.
Under the agreement, the loan is of €150 million. The sum represents 50% of the co-financing for the Moldova Roads Rehabilitation V program. The other part of the sum is provided by the European Investment Bank.
