The national football team of Moldova suffered one more defeat in the qualifying rounds of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Moldova lost to the Faroe Islands 1- 2 away, IPN reports.

The hosts opened the score in the 68th minute through Klamint Olsen and in four minutes doubled the advantage through Heini Vatnsdal. Moldova scored in the 84th minute through the agency of Nicolae Milinceanu.

“I assume full responsibility for this failure. On the other hand, the players should draw particular conclusions. We had a very good first half when we should have scored. But something happened later and we experienced difficulties, with two goals being scored against us. In general, it was an exhausting week and this thing was felt by the players,” said Moldova manager Roberto Bordin.

After six matches played, Moldova has only one point. Denmark leads in the group with six victories. In the evening of September 7, Denmark demolished Israel 5-0.
